We lead a busy and crazy life, like most of our neighbors and friends. Each day seems to blend into the next and before we have time to fully adjust to the work week, it is Saturday again. One of the kitchen tools that we use every day of the week is our Kitchen Island. Our kitchen island has a butcher block top, is movable with four heavy duty locking swivel casters, has drawers in the front with two shelves underneath, hooks on the sides, and fold-out on two of the four sides. Kitchen Islands butcher blocks with all these features give us the ability to use it where and when we need it most.

On Saturday morning, our kitchen island becomes the focal point for early morning coffee with my spouse, a place to plan family events and gather bills that need to be paid, as well as work on any other maintenance items. family. We open the sides of the fold-out sheets and use the extra space to distribute our calendars, checkbooks, computers, and paperwork. While we drink our coffee, we organize our life. Once everything is complete, we save the sides, clean the kitchen, and get on with our day.

By Saturday afternoon, the kitchen island is usually back in service as a food prep station. Whether it’s with friends or out-of-town guests, invited to a dinner party, we’ll gather our ingredients for a gourmet meal, open the cookbooks, and mince, slice, mix, and mash until the food is done. All necessary pots, pans, and cookware are conveniently stored on kitchen island shelves and drawers. Cleaning is always a breeze as we can simply unlock the wheels and roll the island close to the sink and trash can for easy removal and cleaning up all meal prep debris. When food is ready to come out of the oven, the top of the butcher block is the perfect place to place it and allow it to cool before serving the food.

Sunday morning usually finds us back on the island, only this time we are enjoying our coffee with the Sunday newspaper or some other relaxing reading material. They spend several hours sitting, drinking, and just taking a quiet moment to enjoy the weekend before the next event. On Sundays, we usually have a family dinner. Once again the island enters service as a food preparation station. However, once food prep for Sunday lunch is complete, the island is queued to act as a banquet-style serving table in the dining area or used for “the children’s table” , depending on the number of family members who can prepare it. for dinner.

In a two day span, our kitchen island also leads a busy and fulfilling life. From the planning station to the dining room table, kitchen island butcher blocks are not only fine pieces of furniture that enhance the décor of a kitchen, but they are also versatile enough to adapt to any requirement of our active lives. .
