Year after year, the Indianapolis Colts are one of the best teams in the National Football League. This is due in no small part to the personnel that are there, including Peyton Manning, Joseph Addai, Reggie Wayne, Bob Sanders and an incredible offensive line. In the past, they’ve started on fire and even flirted with an undefeated season through the end of December.

However, 2010 will not be one of those years, as the Colts fell victim to a Houston Texans team that had something to prove. Indianapolis is sure to still have a great year and be a playoff team, but thanks to Houston they won’t start the year on top.

The Texans had beaten the Colts just once in the 16 times the two teams have met. The Texans have quarterback Matt Schaub, who in 2009 led the entire NFL in passing. However, that was not how they beat the Colts, as the offensive star of the game was running back Arian Foster. Foster gained 231 yards in the game alone as the Texans wore down the Colts’ defense over the course of Sunday morning’s game.

The Colts will bounce back, Peyton Manning will take care of that. They will once again rise to the top of the division, the conference, and maybe even the top of the entire league. However, the Texans have given notice that while they may still be the new team on the block, they have come to play in 2010.
