Thinking of bringing luck to an organization, we use a mascot. It is any person, object or animal that represents the organization to bring luck. A dog is a popular option. Here are pet names with meaning and history.

This is a continuation of part 1. In this article, we will cover the following pet dog names. The pet’s dog names are Jack the Bulldog, Jiggs, Jonathan, Mex, Nigger, Reveille, Smokey, Uga, and Zeke the Wonder Dog.

Jack the Bulldog, which is another English Bulldog, is the mascot of Georgetown University. The American Kernel Association registered Jack as John S. Carroll. And, Jack is the nickname. The real John Carroll was also the founder of the university. Jack is a Hebrew name meaning God is gracious.

Jiggs, Chesty, and Smedley, who are English Bulldogs, are the mascot of the US Marine Corps in 1922. From 1930 to 1955, Jiggs and Smedley represented the task force. From 1955 onwards, Chesty represented the task force.

Jonathan, who is a Husky, is the mascot of the University of Connecticut. The mascot is named after the first Governor of Connecticut. This is Jonathan Trumbull. There is a costumed mascot and a real dog mascot. The costumed mascot is solid white Husky. Jonathan is a Hebrew dog name meaning gift from God.

Mex is the original mascot of the University of Oklahoma from 1915 to 1928. Mex attends football and baseball games wearing a red sweater with the big letter O on it. In 1914, Mott Keys adopted Mex. Mott works as a medic for the US Army near the Mexican border. Mott later moved to Oklahoma and attended college. Eventually, Mott got a job as a doctor on the football team. The students then quickly fell in love with Mex as he tagged along with Mott at the games.

Nigger, who is a black Labrador retriever, is the mascot of The Dambusters. He is a squadron of aircraft in the Royal Scottish Air Force. During World War II, the squadron busts the German dam. This is how the squadron got the name.

Diana, who is a Collie, is the mascot of the University of Texas. The mascot is named Diana after the five diamond general. She helped the university during World War II. After the second target, the mascot became a purebred American Collie. And, all of Diana’s pets are all female.

Smokey, who is a Blue Tick Hound, is the mascot for the University of Tennessee. The university uses a live and costumed version of the mascot. The costumed version’s mascot attends all games. The costume is so good. Smokey has won many pet championships.

Uga, who is another English Bulldog, is the mascot of the University of Georgia. Uga usually wears a spiked collar and a red T-shirt. The jersey is the same jersey of the sports teams. Because the breed is prone to heat stroke, Uga lies down on an ice pack at games. During the games, Uga likes to play and lick the children. Uga is an American dog name meaning University of Georgia. The letter U stands for university, while the letter G stands for Georgia. And, the letter A is the last letter of Georgia.

Zeke the Wonder Dog, who is a Labrador Retriever, is the mascot of Michigan State University. During halftime of football games, Zeke catches the Frisbee beautifully. Zeke performs on stage from 1974 to 1984. Zeke is a very good catcher and catcher. After three years of retirement, Zeke passed away.

The English Bulldog is often the choice of mascot in any organization. The breed can show a friendly, fun, courageous, mean, strong and lovable nature side. As you can see, the breed is versatile. Definitely, the dog mascot brings a lot of luck to the organization.
