I have seen many photos of kitchens on the internet and in some cooking magazines that are impressive. Some are truly the kitchen of your dreams and when you look at them, you immediately assume they are out of reach. This means that you might think that they will be too expensive. Most of the kitchens we see in advertisements are inaccessible to the average family. They may be made for advertising only, but I’m sure you can get close enough if you’re smart about it.
If you’ve chosen a kitchen from a magazine or off the net, print it out and see what you can do in your kitchen to get that look. Start with the cabinets. Do you need to replace your cabinets or can you just change the finish of yours? If you need to replace them, try to buy something that looks more like the one in the picture. It does not have to be the exact same brand, but an imitation, your own imitation. You can get something within your price range that will be very similar to your desired appearance.
Once you’ve removed the cabinets, you can try doing the same for the sink. There are enough different types and colors of sinks on the market that you should definitely find something close enough. Remember, if it’s a little different, it can still be wonderful.
So now that we take care of the sink and cabinets, we can make the walls. Buy tiles that look a lot like the kitchen tiles of your dreams. You can find it online or in a store, but try to see the fine details in the image, because advertised kitchens sometimes have backsplash tiles. You may not be able to find the exact backsplash from the photo, but you can create your own that could be even better. Make the purchase and buy all the necessary supplies. If you haven’t done this before, go online and find out how to install tile and backsplash. You will be guided through the entire process and it will be easy.
Unless you really want to, you shouldn’t use the same tiles that you used for your floor walls. Look at the picture closely and try to figure out what kind of tiles are used. You can most likely mimic it very closely if it is made of ceramic.
After the cabinets, sink, walls, and floors have been changed, you can now add some of your own finishing touches. This can include the curtain, flower vases, or whatever is comforting to you. You can have the kitchen of your dreams at your own budget.
