A major drawback of this program is the steep learning curve that must be overcome in order to use all of the program’s features. However, we found that VideoStudio Pro is still the most flexible video editing software out there. Also, important tools are easily accessible and very easy to use. We also review Corel’s DVD Movie Factory. This software has few audio and photo editing features, which makes it a better software for capturing videos than editing them.
Adobe’s Premier Elements is excellent for both beginners and advanced users. The software enables even beginners to produce and share movies online like an expert.
Magix’s Movie Edit Pro Plus HD provides users with 3D and HD video editing capabilities. This program can handle even the most creative user. The biggest drawback of this software is the amount of computer power required to run this program.
NCH Software’s VideoPad made our list for its ease of use. This is a great program for beginners. The software’s low price of $59.95 makes up for some of the features it lacks, such as 3D editing.
Pinnacle’s Studio HD provides enormous flexibility that is only limited by the user’s imagination. It provides the opportunity to work with HDTV video formats and has extensive customization capabilities. Due to the complexity of the software, the learning curve is huge.
Creator by Roxio supports more video output than any other program. Plus, drag and drop capabilities for video, audio, and effects make it easy to use for even the most novice user.
Sony’s Vegas Movie Studio Platinum, however, is not easy to use and the lack of help/support is frustrating. The wide variety of video editing features makes it difficult to learn; however, the program is worth mastering for the benefits you get.
ArcSoft’s ShowBiz DVD is also easy to use, making it a great program for all users. The program supports limited post formats, but it has more features and special templates than most other programs.
