Chrysin has been around as a sports supplement since the late 1990s, which means it has been around for quite some time in bodybuilding circles. It was found to possess anti-aromatase activity in the laboratory, so many sports supplement companies jumped on the bandwagon to include it with “andro” as a means of reducing the negative estrogenic effects of this prohormone. Sadly, Chrysin is still used today, even though studies on chrysin as a testosterone booster have not been positive on their own. In a study in men by Gambelunghe “Effects of chrysin on urinary testosterone levels in human men.” no increase in testosterone was found to occur. This could be due to chrysin’s poor oral bioavailability, but even solving this problem does not mean that chrysin is a good supplement for normal men.

Chrysin has also been shown to promote weight gain by altering thyroid function in male and female rats, which is not advantageous to a bodybuilder. Many bodybuilders supplement with thyroid factors, so anything that lowers thyroid activity is bound to cause problems. Also, Chrysin has been shown not to have a positive effect on lowering estrogen, making Chrysin only good in the petri dish for lowering estrogen. This is probably due to the conversion of chrysin to other molecules by the body. Chrysin’s downsides far outweigh its upsides as it does not reduce estrogen as many sports supplements claim and can even make you fat due to decreased thyroid production.

Testosterone boosting supplements are important for men and fortunately it is possible to choose a very good and potent natural formulation to boost testosterone. It must have the following criteria to be effective. It must first contain an anti-aromatase, which is what chrysin is supposed to do. Aromatase is the enzyme that converts your active testosterone into estrogen, so you don’t want to have a lot of this enzyme hanging around. Steroid abusers use powerful pharmaceutical preparations containing aromatase inhibitors, but fortunately there are natural supplements that are as potent as pharmaceutical preparations.

Second, you need a natural SERM like tamoxifen, which blocks estrogen at the receptor, giving you the ability to eliminate any other estrogenic side effects. Finally, you need something that increases STaR proteins, which are the testicular enzymes that convert raw cholesterol in the bloodstream into testosterone. These things combined will give you the estrogen lowering and testosterone boosting effects you want.

With supplements similar in effect to what Chrysin promises, you can reach 1200 ng/dl, which is the highest level humanly possible for a natural product.

A product that has all these features and ingredients that meet 100% of my criteria is Formadrol from LG Sciences. Formadrol has the most powerful natural aromatase inhibitor available plus cofactors to block estrogen and stop the conversion of these powerful hormones to other agents. This makes Formadrol Extreme the most powerful natural testosterone boosting agent on the market. In addition, it should not test positive for any drugs or steroids and has little to no known side effects.
