Stress is something that almost all of us deal with in our daily lives, some of us are not even aware that we are dealing with it. Left untreated, stress can take a huge toll on your physical and mental well-being. Stress is one of the main causes of poor health in our country. In this article we will give you some tips to deal with stress.

First, what you eat, as in most areas of your life, what you eat can affect your stress levels. A healthy diet with a good combination of protein, whole grains, fruits and vegetables will reduce your stress level. If you choose to live on a diet high in calories and fatty foods, your stress level will continue to peak. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids every day so that your body is hydrated at all times.

Second, exercise, start a good exercise regiment. Pick something you enjoy so you stick with it. Try to engage in this exercise at least 3 times a week. It doesn’t have to be strenuous, it can be as simple as walking, but stick with it. The benefits of exercise will be felt both mentally and physically in no time. You will feel your stress melt away.

Third, make a plan, if you make a list of the things you need to do, when you complete the list you will have a sense of accomplishment. Most of us run all day and feel like we never get anything done. One of the biggest causes of stress is the feeling that we have a lot to do and we will get it done. With a list we can see that we have taken care of what is necessary for that day.

Fourth, meditation and yoga can be helpful for many people to relieve stress. Simply setting aside time to do this reduces stress. Allowing yourself time to relax and relieve stress is very important. Many doctors say that patients have lowered their blood pressure so much with yoga that they no longer need medication. Do some research for yourself and find out what suits you best.

Lastly, have fun, in our busy lifestyles today few of us actually take the time to have fun. Whatever makes your bubble float as they say. Take time to see friends read, go to the movies, just get and visit. Being with people you care about and care about is a great stress cure.
